I'm not going to write a super long blog. I haven't the energy.
Let me just summarize my day. I got up, and I sat in front of my canvas all day. I spent the first half of my day making horrible artistic decisions and the second day trying to reverse them.
I really need to stop staying up so late, it's really messing with my game.
Also, I need to finish this painting ASAP and move onto the next. I stumbled across another website of a group of people who are also doing the same thing (100 paintings in a year) which again made me feel completely unoriginal AND to top that off almost everyone on that website is on painting #7. I can't decide whether to make them my comrades or my rivals.
I'm thinking rivals.
I'll check back in tomorrow.
The painting above by Lucian Freud illustrates what I'm about to go do.

I like this painting. Is this one you just recently did?!?
ReplyDeletewait... you haven't said how many paintings you are on... unless I skipped that... if everyone else is almost on 7...what are u on?!
and it's the beginning.... don't freak out yet! You have lots of time!
If you stress you'll screw yourself over. Do what you love, the rest falls into place
Hey Ursula! No, I didn't do this painting! It's by an artist nammed Lucian Freud. I'm on my third painting.
ReplyDeleteSo a little behind...
But someone reminded me yesterday when I was bitching that I've committed to doing 100 AWESOME paintings, and that takes a little but more of a time commitment. Besides, this one is like 3 ft by 4 ft.
Thank you for your encouragement, it totally keeps me going. :)
A good model, Lucian Freud. Not just a great grasp of the technique but a vigor that excites the viewer.
